Hi! I'm Diana.

Diana Harper is the founder of RugDoodle. She received a BFA in Studio Art from Kent State University in 2020. Ever since her first fiber art class she was in love. Discovering the process and history of textiles defined her body of work. After Diana graduated in a pandemic, she taught herself how to tuft rugs in her tiny studio apartment and the rest is history. While Diana loves knitting, crochet, weaving, felting, and cross stitch, tufting has become her main medium. She teaches tufting classes at Washington Heights Arts Center in Lakewood, Colorado, and lives in Denver with her cat Jellybean.
"When you are young, you are free!"
Diana has always been inspired by childhood artwork. When you are still learning how to hold a paint brush, there is nothing stopping you from making whatever you want without any self-doubt. Art isn’t about making a perfect replication; it’s about discovery and play and color. Fiber art is often misunderstood or taken less seriously than other art mediums like painting. Textiles are historically functional and necessary for survival as well as being beautiful. Part of Diana’s personal artist mission is to uplift the mundane items in our home. They add warmth, personality, joy, and an intentionality to your everyday life. Hand tufted rugs are soft and made so you and your child can have something to touch and experience in your everyday life. Just like fiber art, your children’s beautiful artwork should be upheld and revered. It is a great opportunity to teach your kids about the beauty in different types of art mediums and let them know that their art is something to be celebrated and taken seriously!
